One of our favs Tana Mongeau announced Tancon, a two day alternate YouTube convention to VidCon held in LA over the weekend. What wasn't expected was around 15,000 - 20,000 people to show up when the event venue was only ready for a 5,000 capacity. This caused fans queuing up in the events carpark for hours in the sun and authorities deeming the venue unsafe and a fire hazard with the amount of people. Both days of the event have been shut down with organisers releasing a media statement saying "At this point in time there's no way to continue our weekend as is without risking the safety of all our Featured Creators, which is our number one priority".

Tana has been overwhelmed with the response received from her fans for her very own event and being super thankful for her fans and the creators. "Today got shut down and stuff as we want it to be safe as possible and we weren't fully prepared," Tana said in a DramaAlert interview.
CEO of the event organiser Good Times, Michael Weist and his team originally we're trying to organise an alternate venue for the next day which has since been called off with fans directed to email for potential refunds.
