Instagram launches IGTV

Instagram have just launched their new vertical video platform titled IGTV. Instagram say's the app is a stand alone but will also work within the current Instagram app (update you app now) and is hoping creators and brands will see it as an alternative to YouTube. The platform will offer longer video content up to an hour long displayed vertically in full screen similar to stories. At this stage the platform is advertisement free but we intend ads simialr to YouTube will start appearing in coming months. They also announced they've reach one billion active monthly users.
